Memories

Connie Ripley Lujan (6/26/35 to 12/31/20)

Our mother Connie recently passed away peacefully at home according to her wishes.

Connie had many attributes that made her a wonderful mother. She was intelligent, creative, adventurous, supportive and stubbornly determined in her beliefs.

Yet it was her patience that was tested most recently during her recovery from some medical setbacks. These setbacks landed her in the hospital, skilled nursing, and eventually in an assisted living facility during the peak of the pandemic. Isolated in this facility, Connie showed remarkable determination in regaining her strength with the help of her caregiver Kathy and a stationary bike somebody had discarded in the hallway. In August she announced that she was returning home.

Although her time back at home was limited, it was undoubtedly a happy time and according to her plan. It is hard to lose our mother. We miss her. But we respect her decision to move on in her own way, and in her own time.

In this time of pandemic, it is unclear when we will be able to gather in person to celebrate Connie's life. We are hopeful that this website will serve to gather Connie's memories in the meantime.

The past couple years have been tough on the mothers of the extended Ripley clan. A handful have moved on. We extend our fondest sentiments to all mothers past and present. They are the ultimate fan club for their children.

Blessings to you and yours,

Connie's Sons
